Customer Experience and Opinions Great for Training an Over Eager Pup, December 28 ,2009 Kelly M. Christensen (Brandon, MS United States) says that: I know a lot of people consider pinch collars to be "inhumane", but they are not. In fact, they are considerably less startling than a choke chain or even a traditional collar for a dog who pulls excessively on a lead. Some dogs will continue to pull with a choke chain, choking themselves just as they do with a normal collar if they are a tenacious puller. A pinch collar exerts gentle pressure when a dog pulls, encouraging them to walk at your pace. You really only need use the pinch collar every so often during training sessions, before your dog learns how to walk comfortably with you on a lead.
it works, November 06 ,2009 Airmen J reveals that: I wasnt sure about using a prong collar for my dog, it looked like it hurt and looked uncomfortable. I have a lab/pit mix, best dog ever, lovable and playful. But he loved pulling me outside and chase after other dogs. Became a job instead of a lesiure walk. I had to resort to a prong collar and it started to work instantly. I was impressed. its only temporary for training. I dont even use it anymore and he is doing great. If the dog was not responding to the collar i probable would have discontinued because Im sure it would have hurt him. When dogs are pups, the mother would uselly grab them by there neck. Its only pressure on the dog.
Inhumane!, October 21 ,2009 Kelly L. Small reveals that: Collars like this can cause behavioral problems as well as health issues, really learn about these collars and what they do... there are better ways to help you train your dog. I challenge anyone who uses these cruel collars to try them on for size around their own necks and give them a tug or pull. Dogs' necks are very sensitive just like ours no matter how rounded the prongs, they still hurt!
