Customer Experience and Opinions

Great Crate and Great Price, March 10 ,2010
Jodi A. Schuh (Apex, NC) informs us that:
I bought this crate for my greyhound, and am very pleased! It came in two days, and only took me about 5 minutes to set up. It is very sturdy and much easier to put together than the crates with all separate pieces. Well-worht the money!

Great Sleeping area, Sturdy, March 10 ,2010
R. Prock (USA) informs us that:
I got this for my English Bulldog. He now is a tad too big for it, but still can sleep in it at night. I put his bed in there as well. It is easy to put together and sturdy. The locking part is a pain sometimes cause it wont lock right, you gotta mess with it. overall a 4 out of 5 i give it.

A Quality Product at A Very Good Price, March 10 ,2010
G. Panneton (Layton, UT) thinks that:
I purchased this dog crate for my Boxer (Champ the Wonder Dog) 3 months ago. The item is exactly as described in the listing. It was delivered quickly and packaged accordingly. It arrived in perfect condition. It took me about 5 minutes to unpack the crate and set it up. It is of good quality materials and construction and up to date, very durable. The double doors are very handy. I have placed a variety of dog mats, pillows, etc. in there for my dog. It is large enough to accommodate a variety of pet bedding. My Boxer stands almost two feet tall and weighs in at seventy pounds. There is more than enough room for him in this crate (42" X 28"). I leave the door open and he uses this as his day bed. It is a handy place to locate his play toys, bones, etc. when he is not playing with them. It came with a partition but I have no use for it. I imagine the partition would be handy for smaller dogs, puppies, or perhaps to co-locate two or more dogs within the same crate. As Champ the Wonder Dog is comfortable in his "home", leaving him in there for up to four hours at a time while no one is home seems to suit him fine. He is crashed out in there now as I review this item. I would recommend this item to anyone that has a need for one. I would also recommend purchasing this item through Amazon.com as they have the best price and prompt shipping. I am certain you dog will be happy with his new home.

Customer Experience and Opinions

 Great Gates, March 05 ,2010
Jer & Sheilla believes that:
My wife and I have been using these gates for the past three years. We got them to allow our cats into rooms that we do not want our daughter in. They have worked great. Most of the negative reviews I have seen are people who did not follow the instructions. The gates are easy to install, do little to no damage to walls and are very sturdy. The one complain that would make sense is that a mid size dog may fit through the pet door on this gate. The gate may not be a good fit if you are trying to separate cats and mid size dogs.

If you are trying to separate young children from small pets and/or you want a sturdy gate that attaches securely without damaging the walls, this is a good choice.

Great for Small Pets, March 05 ,2010
D. Rae (Cedar Park, TX) believes that:
This gate is easy to install. Keeps my small dachsunds in and they can't jump over. Wish the clamps that touch the wall were soft or padded as it can scratch the wall.

Perfect gate for pets, March 01 ,2010
Cozy in the South (Knoxville, TN) says that:
We bought two of these gates to confine our new puppy to our kitchen. One of our two doorways was 45" wide, and this gate fit it perfectly. The installation was extremely simple; just be sure to thoroughly read the installation instructions. I love being able to open the gate door and walk right through. The gate is tall enough that I'm sure our puppy will never be able to jump over it, too. Well, she's a small puppy, so a larger dog might be able to jump it--but he would have to be a very good jumper. The gate looks very nice, too.

My only problem was that our puppy was so small, she could easily slip right through the bars. As a temporary solution, we attached some of those wire-grid shelves to the outside of the gate with tie-wraps (the 12"-by-12" type of shelves that you snap together with round connectors--usually used in kids' rooms). Our puppy is 14-weeks old now (only 5 lbs., though), so she should be big enough in the next few weeks to remove those grids.

All-in-all, this is an excellent gate for pets. The price was really good compared to those I found on some of the pet-supplies web sites, too.

Great door, hope you don't have vinyl siding, February 23 ,2010
C. Gonzalez (Lamar, CO USA) reveals:
A couple things they should mention in the installation instructions:
make sure it's not installed too close to the doorknob where someone could reach through and unlock the door;
cut a small hole large enough for your arm and reach in and feel for electrical wiring before you cut a huge hole.

If you're going through vinyl siding, do it in the summertime. In the winter it is so brittle it shatters. The instructions don't mention that when you install something into vinyl siding you need something called J frames (?) or something like that. In the end I had to have a contractor come over to install it because I couldn't get through the vinyl siding. I attempted to score it first with a utility blade (ha!), then tried a circular saw, Saw-zawl, tin snips, and a mini-hack saw. The mini-hacksaw worked the best but went very slowly. The circular saw just shattered the siding and sent pieces flying. The saw-zawl would have probably worked had I used a blade with about 24 teeth per inch. I had a blade for wood with about 11 teeth per inch. In the end we got it installed and there were no problems with the actual door--one thing I wish is that the two sides were labeled "A" & "B". Also I think it should have come with a tube of silicon caulk because there's about a 1/2 inch tall gap between the two pieces after they slid together. The gap wasn't that big to begin with, but in the freezing cold weather it seems like it moved up. I found a great installation video on youtube, [...], but in hindsight I can see that they omitted the fact that you have to drill 1/2 inch holes for toggle bolts. If you can, at least get one side of it installed into a stud. This spring/summer I'll do the silicon sealant to keep the rain from going between the two pieces and into the wall.
One other thing. When you go through a door, you almost always step up or down, right? Do all your measurements and placement from the side of the wall that has the lowest floor. My older dog refused to use the door because it's too high because I did my measurements from inside where the floor is higher.
It's still a great door, I just wanted people to have a few hints about installation. Good luck!

Highly recommend this dog door!!!!, February 19 ,2010
Cathy J. Smith (Oklahoma, USA) says that:
We have 3 dogs and one is a pit bull/dalmation mix. She gallops through this door with no problems. It is strong and keeps the north wind out. Would buy this again if ever needed.

 Cheap!!, February 18 ,2010
Bryan Hootman (Tucson AZ) says:
The plastic is very thin. If a small dog walked through it will flex and move around a lot.The add makes it sound like it's all metal. But most of it is thin, soft & flimsy plastic. I found an ALL metal one for almost the same price @ moorepet-petdoors.com.
